Seeking Employment Opportunity Any person seeking to be an independent contractor as a freelance interpreter must initially submit a resume in addition to any field related certifications currently held, copies of RID membership or any of the affiliate chapters, and references. CODA Link, Inc. will then provide the candidate with an interpreter application packet which includes policies and procedures, availability schedule and an Independent Contractor Agreement which includes a confidentiality agreement. During the interview process the Director gathers information related to their background, education, and reasons for becoming an interpreter. This information provides an insight to determine if they share in the vision and mission of the agency. A “mock” interpreting situation is created in order evaluate the skill level and signing ability. Based on observation, the Director will determine if the candidate is a suitable match for the agency and the clientele we serve. Once hired, the interpreter must go through background screening and drug test. After meeting all of the hiring requirements, interpreters will be issued a company ID badge that must be visible at all times while on assignment. Coda Link, Inc. adheres to a Drug-Free workplace policy. Employees found in violation of this prohibition shall be dismissed immediately. |
